Wine Events of the Week–Austin Nov. 15 to Nov. 22, 2017

  • Second Bar + Kitchen Domain Northside–Hosts Wine Wednesday with half off Italian wines on Wednesday November 15, 2017 from 4-10 PM. Four Italian bottles will be offered at half off and select Italian appetizers will be available for $5 during happy hour.  Live music starts at 6 PM. 
  • The Austin Winery–Hosts Date Night on Wednesday October 18, 2017 from 4 to 10 PM.  Get a cheese plate, a bottle of select wine and a sweet treat for $30. 
  • It’s Italian Cucina–Hosts Bollini Winery Presents on Thursday November 15, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM.  Certified sommelier Heather Falvo (me!) will be pouring three Italian wines from the Trentino region of Italy; a Pinot Grigio, a Merlot and a Teroldego.  Free.
  • Barley Bean–Hosts Wine Tasting Event on Friday November 17, 2017 from 3 to 5 PM.  Visit for a free wine tasting. 
  • Antonelli’s Cheese Shop–Hosts Alexander Vineyards on Friday Novemer 16, 2017 from 7 to 9 PM.  Claude Alexander will be pouring several of their Texas Hill Country Wines paired with meats and cheeses from Antonelli’s.  Tickets are available via link.  Tickets are $35.
  • The Austin Wine Merchant–Hosts a free tasting in the shop every Saturday from 12 to 3 PM.  Highly recommended to expand your wine knowledge. 
  • Ironwood Hall–Hosts the Texas International Food & Wine Roundup on Saturday November 18, 2017 from 6 to 10:30 PM.  Taste an array of award winning wines, international food samplings and enjoy live music.  Proceeds will benefit the Whole Planet Foundation, working to alleviate world wide poverty through micro-lending.  Tickets are $100 and include parking, event admission, a raffle ticket, all food and wine tastings and access to the silent auction.  Available via link
  • The Palm Door on Sabine–Hosts Wine for the People‘s Harvest Celebration on Sunday November 19, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM.  This will be the first ever celebration of Texas Nouveau wines!  The 2017 vintages of Dandy Rosé and wines of the Grower Project, both spearheaded by winemaker Rae Wilson will be featured.  These wines will be straight from the tank!  Hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be a DJ spinning classic soul.  Tickets are $30 in advance via link, and $35 at the door.
