Wine Events of the Week–Austin Apr. 3 to Apr. 10, 2019

  • Siena Ristorante Toscana–Hosts Silver Oak and Twomey Wine Dinner on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6:30 to 10 PM.  Enjoy a dinner menu prepared by Chef Harvey, paired with the wines of two iconic producers.  Silver Oak Cabernets and Twomey Bien Nacido Pinot Noir will be featured.  $145 per person, call (512) 349-7667 to reserve.
  • Palm Door on Sabine–Hosts Seasons of Wine with Wine for the People on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  Enjoy bites from Pink Avocado catering along with Dandy Rosé and The Grower Project wines.  Tickets can be purchased at the Edible Austin website for $55. 
  • It’s Italian Cucina–Hosts A Pinot Tasting on Thursday, April 4, 2019, from 5 to 7 PM.  Join me, Heather Falvo, certified sommelier for a free tasting of Italian wines on the patio.  We will be pouring Jermann Pinot Grigio, Tolloy Pinot Noir and Marchese Leopoldo Pinot Nero. 
  • Bullock Texas State History Museum–Hosts Evenings Out:  Viva Texas Vino on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM.  Join fellow certified sommelier and Texas Monthly columnist Jessica Dupuy for an in-depth Texas wine tasting seminar.  Paired bites will be provided by the Story of Texas Cafe.  Tickets are $20 for members and $40 for non-members and can be purchased here.
  • The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas–Hosts 2019 Auction Kickoff Party with Winemaker Randy Hester on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 to 9 PM.  Mickelthwait Craft Meats will be serving up some delicious barbecue and C.L Butaud Wines will be poured by winemaker Randy Hester.  The wine and the ‘cue are all Texas, baby.  Ticket prices vary and can be purchased here.
  • Better Half Coffee and Cocktails–Hosts Southold Farm + Cellars Wine Release and DJ Honkytonk Amnesia on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 to 9 PM.  Meet Southold’s winemaker and taste their latest vintages for the first time. DJ Honkytonk Amnesia will be spinning country vinyl for your listening pleasure. 
  • Paris in a Bite–Hosts Calais Winery Tasting on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM.  Bread and cheese will be served while winemaker and very nice person, Ben Calais, pours some of his incredible Texas wines.  Tickets are $29 to $37 and can be purchased here
  • 7Co–Hosts 2019 Featured Wine Luncheon with Blackbird Vineyards on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 12 to 3 PM.  The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas presents an exclusive luncheon featuring Blackbird Vineyard Wines of Napa Valley.  Ticket prices vary and are available here.
  • The Austin Wine Merchant–Hosts a free tasting in the shop every Saturday from 12 to 3 PM.  Highly recommended to expand your wine knowledge.
  • Texas Reds and Whites Tasting Room–Hosts Wine & Food Educational Event with  Jeremy Wilson of Perissos Vineyard on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 PM.  Enjoy a tasting of five incredible Texas wines.  Tickets are $25 and available here.
  • The Rotten Bunch Wine Bar–Hosts Lewis Wine Dinner on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 7 to 9:30 PM.  Enjoy a delicious five course menu paired with 100% Texas wines.  If you have not had Lewis Wines, you are in for a treat and should plan for a visit to their Hill Country tasting room.  Tickets are $75 and available at the restaurant or by calling (512) 276-2537.
